Authorship Criteria
Principles of Authorship
Jurnal Manajemen Transportasi & Logistik (JMTRANSLOG) requires authorship to reflect genuine scholarly contributions to the research reported in a manuscript. Authorship represents both academic credit and responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and ethical conduct of the published work.
All individuals listed as authors must have made substantial contributions to the research, participated in preparing or critically revising the manuscript, approved the final version, and agreed to be accountable for their contributions.
Qualifying Contributions
Qualifying contributions may include:
- Conception or design of the research, analytical framework, or study methodology.
- Collection, processing, analysis, or interpretation of transportation, logistics, operational, financial, environmental, or supply-chain data.
- Development of research models, surveys, case-study methods, evaluation frameworks, or other substantive research components.
- Drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
- Reviewing and approving the final manuscript before submission or publication.
- Accepting accountability for the integrity of the work and cooperating in resolving questions concerning its accuracy or reliability.
Routine administrative support, funding acquisition alone, general supervision, data entry without substantive intellectual contribution, or proofreading alone does not automatically qualify an individual for authorship. Such contributions may be acknowledged appropriately where relevant and with the individual's consent.
Responsibilities of All Authors
All authors must ensure that the manuscript accurately represents the research conducted and that the data, analytical methods, findings, and conclusions are reported honestly.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that:
- The manuscript is original and appropriately acknowledges all sources, ideas, data, and methods used.
- The manuscript is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal.
- All listed authors have approved the submitted manuscript and its final version.
- Relevant funding sources and competing interests are disclosed.
- Research involving human participants, confidential organizational information, personal data, or other ethically sensitive materials complies with applicable requirements.
- Third-party material is used with appropriate attribution and permission where necessary.
- Any limitations, assumptions, and uncertainties that affect the interpretation of the findings are reported appropriately.
Corresponding Author
The corresponding author is the primary contact between the authors and the editorial office throughout submission, review, revision, and publication.
The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors have approved the submission, that author names and affiliations are accurate, and that required declarations and supporting documents are complete. The corresponding author is also responsible for communicating editorial decisions and reviewer comments to the co-authors and coordinating responses to revision requests.
Designation as corresponding author does not remove the responsibilities of the other authors.
Author Order and Contributions
The order of authorship should be agreed upon by all authors before submission and should reflect their contributions and relevant disciplinary conventions. Authors should provide an author-contribution statement when requested by the journal.
Contribution statements must be accurate and must not exaggerate or misrepresent the role of any individual. Authors should resolve authorship arrangements before submission whenever possible.
Changes in Authorship
Requests to add, remove, or reorder authors after submission must be made in writing to the editorial office. The request must include a clear explanation and confirmation that all affected authors agree to the proposed change.
The editorial team may request supporting documentation and suspend processing while the request is assessed. If an authorship dispute cannot be resolved by the authors, the journal may seek clarification from the relevant institution or research organization.
Prohibited Authorship Practices
Guest, gift, honorary, and ghost authorship are not acceptable. Individuals who have not made qualifying contributions must not be listed as authors, and eligible contributors must not be improperly excluded.
Authorship must not be purchased, exchanged for unrelated benefits, or manipulated to influence editorial decisions. Any credible concern about authorship misconduct may be assessed under the journal's research misconduct policy.
Accountability
All authors are expected to cooperate with editorial inquiries concerning the research, its data, its methods, and its interpretation. When concerns arise, the journal may request explanations, supporting records, or clarification from the authors or their institutions and may take appropriate editorial action based on the available evidence.
